The college community gathered for Convocation in September to celebrate the Class of 2023 and the awarding of Bicentennial Medals to six distinguished alumni.

In her Convocation Address, Nasdaq President and CEO Adena Testa Friedman ’91 spoke of mentoring and work-life balance. “Those moments aren’t flashy. But it’s those moments that gave me the conviction, credibility, capacity and capability to do the job I have now. … We’re all running a long-distance marathon. And while there are big mile markers along the way, you only get to them because of the steps in between.”

Also receiving medals that day were Dr. Elizabeth “Libby” Hohmann, a staff physician in the Infectious Diseases Division at Massachusetts General Hospital; Katherine Krieg Fischer ’08 and Anouk Dey ’09, founders of Reclaim Childhood in Amman, Jordan; Pamela Council ’07, an artist who uses sculpture, architecture, writing and performance; and Lina Khan ’10, chair of the Federal Trade Commission.
