Williams Wins 2011 Directors’ Cup
Some people fear the number 13, but not Williams College, now that the Ephs have won their 13th consecutive Directors’ Cup (making it 15 out of 16 awarded in NCAA Division III).

The Ephs’ winning point total of 1,147 was short of last year’s all-time high of 1,292.25, but enough to allow Williams to add another cup to its collection. Middlebury College finished second with a total of 1,063.17 points.
NESCAC placed three teams in the top four, with Amherst finishing fourth (889.5 points).
Over the past 16 years, only the 1998 Cup, won by the UC San Diego Tritons (now in NCAA Division II) eluded the Ephs’ grasp.
The Directors’ Cup competition is sponsored by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and Learfield Sports, in NCAA Divisions I, II, and III and in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
The Directors’ Cup is emblematic of athletic excellence, with points awarded for a school’s finish in NCAA post-season team championships.
